Pests and Parasites
Great ways to combat fleas, ticks, and mites on your pet
A pretty girl like Scarlett can be attacked by fleas at any time! Ticks and mites are another concern, and all of these little blood suckers are not to far from the dog you love. Don't fret! You can naturally combat these pests with a little resolve and a holistic solution.
Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum! Fleas, ticks and mites all are killed from the egg, to the adult with the vacuum. And, since over 90% of the pests are in the environment around the pet, it is key to keep them down by killing them with preventative vacuuming.
Diatomaceous Earth: Pests and fleas especially will be impacted by a non-toxic sprinkling of this organic component in your living areas. The silica in the material rubs on the exoskeleton on the pest, and causes it to die! Can be used in your yard too, with no ill results to your dog.
Super organic dog shampoo: We like the Halo products shampoo, as it is a coconut based saponified oil bubbly cleanser, with many essential oils. The bath is an act of love, and it will rid your pet of the pests, that are taking a ride for free!
Good Nutrition: When you have mites, or microscopic mange, you have more than mites-you have an immune response problem. Your dog is equipped to fight off mange, with good nutrition, as your dog will have the best immunity to fight them naturally. All dogs are exposed to mites, they only produce results when they are not well. See holistic hounds blog for more on mites...
