If you have a dog that is larger, and has a deep chest, you should be aware of bloat. Bloat is an emergency situation, where the dog's stomach gets twisted. Usually bloat happens when the dog eats a big meal, and then exercises. The old rule of not swimming after eating, is a good one to remember if you have a deep chested dog. Dobermans,collies, standard poodles, labs, and golden retrievers are candidates for this terrible condition.

For this reason, I want to scare you a little bit, and make sure you are feeding less food, more frequently, if your time schedule allows it. It can be a great way to ensure your dog gets good nutrition, does not poop every single minute she is outside, and will be sure to bring you better luck with a scary thing like bloat.
